I fly on the Airbus A220 twice with Air France, travelling from LGW to CDG and back to LHR, to find out whether the A220 really lives up to the hype.

We’ll look at the A220's cabin, its unusual 2-3 seating configuration, huge windows, passenger experience, and some of the quirks that make this aircraft different, as well as the aircraft's origins as the Bombardier CSeries, and how Airbus eventually took control of the programme and turned it into the A220.

Those little fins at the end of an aircraft's wings aren't just there to make modern airliners look cool. They have a very important aerodynamic job.

In this video, we look at how winglets work, why wingtip vortices create induced drag, and how reducing that drag can help aircraft use less fuel. But we also look at why winglets aren't fitted to every aircraft, including the engineering, weight and handling trade-offs involved.
